Lapped by the waves of the Mediterranean Sea and bathed by the generous sun of Southern France, Domaine de la Courtade enjoys a most remarkable situation on the island of Porquerolles.
The 35 hectares of vineyard are cherished and respected. Since 1997, they are tended to following the principles of organic agriculture.
The soil of the terroir is composed of schist and the Domaine benefits from an exceptional maritime climate that tempers temperature variations. The wines produced here are structured, well-balanced and complex.
Domaine de la Courtade is a true invitation to awaken one’s senses and proposes Côtes de Provence wines (Protected Designation of Origin) in three colours which very essence conveys the most beautiful expression of the island terroir.
In a selection of red and rosés Provence wines published in February 2017 by the ‘Revue des Vins de France’, Terrasses de la Courtade was given 15/20 for the Red 2015 with the following comment: “Notes of garrigue liven up this dense red wine that requires two years of keeping to mature”. The La Courtade rosé 2016 vintage was also selected and obtained 15/20 with the following mention: “Juicy and spicy, this rosé is essentially dominated by Mourvèdre and is proud of its Provençal character”.
